At Horizon Machining Incorporated we offer full manual machine shop services.
Lathe capabilities include general and precision turning of shafts, tapers, threads and bores. We can machine parts less than 1/16 of an inch in diameter up to 48 inch diameter by 16 inches long and 20 inch diameter by 10 feet long and possibly longer with additional setup.
Milling operations are handled by Bridegport type machines with digital readout and include keyways, pockets, resurfacing, boring, facing and grooving. We also perform indexing for tasks such as precision hole layout and cutting gears, splines and sprockets.
Internal keyways and splines are handled with our metal shaper.
100 ton and 20 ton hydraulic presses for disassembly and reassembly of parts, shaping materials and straightening shafts, plates and other components.
All of our portable services are offered virtually anywhere. Our equipment is 100% self-sufficient and does not require any power source to be provided by the client at the job site. We often tell our clients that our equipment can quickly be transported anywhere that is accessible by a 4x4 pickup and we are willing to work with you to go well beyond.
Line boring is the flagship of our portable services. We have invested in what is recognized world-wide as one of the most versatile and efficient machines on the market today, the Climax BB 5000. We can readily machine bores from 1-3/8 inch diameter up to 13.5 inches at a span of 8 feet. We can promptly acquire additional bars and boring heads to allow machining of 24 inch bores at a 12 foot span.
General Milling can be performed onsite by means of our portable milling table. This machine is ideal for operations such as sole plate resurfacing. This machine is capable of machining an area 28 inches long by 10 inches wide in one set up.
We have a Climax KM3000 and KM4000 portable keymills capable of mounting to shafts as small as 3/4 of an inch and up to 24 inches in diameter and keyway lengths up to 8 inches long in a single set up. Keyway width can be machined as small as 1/16 of an inch up to 3.25 inches. These machines can also be adapted to perform general milling on flat surfaces.

Diesel powered mobile welding unit equipped to perform SMAW, FCAW, Arc-Air Gouging, Oxy-Acetylene cutting and welding as well as electrical power generation for machining tools.
